What is cinematography? Cinematography is the art of filming and explains the way in which someone may film a shot. It includes things like shot type, angel, filter, composition, rule of thirds, quadric filming, and camera movements. On top of this it also includes the lighting and many off springs of that. Such as the Chiaroscuro, which is Italian for light dark, and includes use of shadows and darkness.
